To: Students/Parents/Guardians,


RE: REVISION OF EXAMINATIONS SCHEDULING

This is to notify you of the changes made by the KAG EAST  University 52nd Senate meeting on 10th February 2022 in respect to Examinations Management and Administration Calendar Scheduling effective, Academic Year 2022/ 2023 (September 2022).


  1. End of Semester Examinations Schedules will remain unaltered;  three  CATs  must be submitted  and  graded three weeks before the final  examination

  2. Special Examinations have  been replaced with Deferred Examinations.

  3. Deferred and Supplementary Examinations shall be administered at the End of the Semester/Trimester.

  4. All Examinations options, including, End of Semester, Deferred and Supplementary examinations  shall be administered in the Semester/Trimester session, when the unit/course being examined shall be ON OFFER.

  5. A student who wishes to have an examination deferred to a later date shall make  formal written request via e-mail to the respective  Dean of School copied to Academics Registrar.

  6. Deferred examinations shall be graded out of 100% and grades from Continuous assessment tests (CATS) shall be included.

  7. A student who fails to attain a pass in either, an End of Semester Examination, or a deferred examination shall be scheduled for a supplementary examination.

  8. A Supplementary examination  shall be administered to a student who failed to obtain a passing mark of forty percent (40%) in Certificate, Diploma and Degree.

  9. Supplementary examination shall be graded out of 70% and all Continuous assessment tests (CATS) shall be excluded.

  10. A request for a supplementary examination shall be made by the student through the Dean of School copied to Academics Registrar. 

  11. The student shall, upon advice of approval from the Dean of School, pay a specified fee to the Accounts office for a supplementary examination. 

  12. A student who fails to attain a pass in the supplementary examination shall retake the entire course and pay the relevant fees for the same course.
